This past fortnight has been perhaps the busiest of the project so far. By the time next fortnight rolls around, 13 of our team members will have already begun the trek up to Darwin which means that frantic amounts of testing are being packed in to a very tight schedule. A huge shout out to our technical team who have practically moved into the MTAA Super Sol Invictus workshop over the past fortnight working on the car. Meanwhile our business team have been at out planning our two major events before the race.
The ‘Sol Invictus’ Team is ANU's second attempt at building a solar car to competing in the Bridgestone World Solar Car Challenge. Comprising of 30 Members, we seek to cultivate real world experiance and both industry and student relationships with the ultimate goal of placing within the fastest 10 teams to cross the finish line!
The MTAA Super Sol Invictus team is back again for the 15th Bridgestone World Solar Challenge and looking to build on the solid result of the MTAA Super Charge in 2017. With an all new carbon-fibre monocoque design, the new car is lighter, faster, more aerodynamic and targeting a big result in the race this October
The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC) is a biennial global competition whose teams from around the world build and race solar-powered vehicles. Starting from Darwin with a finish line set in Adelaide, the race totals a distance of over 3000km through the harsh Australian Outback. The BWSC consistently attracts over 40 teams biennially, from 30 different countries, bringing significant global media attention to the race. Entrants include prestigious universities ranging from Stanford to Cambridge, as well as technological institutions and private enterprises such as MIT and Volkswagen. The race offers a chance for the worlds best to compete against the elements and compete for the win.

With some of the most talented students on campus, the MTAA Super Sol Invictus team pushes the boundaries of what is possible. Utilising complex simulations, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing techniques the team is taking engineering to new heights.
The MTAA Super Sol Invictus team seeks to break down the barriers between different disciplines across the university. Currently, the team boasts students from the Colleges of Arts and Social Sciences, Asia & The Pacific, Business and Economics, Engineering and Computer Science, Law, and Science - 6 of the 7 academic colleges at the Australian National University.
As students who have all been inspired by sustainability and the ability to make a change, the MTAA Super Sol Invictus team is dedicated to stimulating the same interest in the wider community. Particularly through outreach events at both primary and high schools, the team plans to create a like-minded generation who strive to address global issues.
MTAA Super Sol Invictus actively aims to include people from a wide variety of social, economic, gender and regional backgrounds. This is done through promotional campaigns through rural schools across the country, as well as involvement in programs to promote women in science and technology.
By providing the opportunity to work on a large scale multifaceted project, MTAA Super Sol Invictus looks to empower its students through personal development and career progression. Many of the team's students have been enabled to chase their dreams and gone on to work at companies as varied as American Express, KPMG, Nova Systems, Renault Sport Formula 1 Team and Mt.
